About Me

I am a devoted parent to a child that has now reached her teens and moved to bigger and better things. The majority of my professional career has been involved with finance but I have held a love for science since my school days. It wasn't until my child began secondary school that I took another look at my own education and chose to pursue a passion for how things work and the way they interact.

Change in Career

I have previously worked with Directors, Investors and external professional entities to ascertain the financial stability of many varied projects, but it was not until after my daughter left home that  I finally took the plunge and made a change in career. I followed a path towards the scientific testing of construction materials. This activity needs to reach specific UK and European standards. My role is both hands on and challenging, with a need for pinpoint accuracy, regardless of repartition or outside influence. It is my goal to follow the path of the British Science Council, with eventual registered scientist accreditation. I hope to  use this as a stepping stone  to further my career within the scientific profession.

Science trips

I also enjoy taking short trips to some of the worlds most accomplished scientific endeavours. My most exciting trips have been to CERN (picture 1), The Diamond Light facility (Picture 2) and The UK's fusion reactor (picture 3).

I Have a good reads account, and  in my spare time  I am attempting to put together a website  of my notes pertaining to  physics and chemistry
